Rail add-on / £75 a month

Safety critical hours, done properly.

The hours register is what costs a sponsor their approval when it is wrong. Squareaway keeps it against the NR/L2/OHS/003 limits, fed by the records you already create, and flags an exceedance before somebody works it rather than after.

£75 a month on top of any plan. One price whatever your size, on either term.

The problem / four sources, one limit

Turns arrive from four places and nobody adds them up until Monday.

Sentinel has the turns. Timesheets have the day works. Shift reports come off site. Some turns never reach any system. By the time a spreadsheet reconciles them, the week is worked.

What is in it / the rail add-on

Six things, and they all feed each other.

Safety Critical Hours register

Per person, per week, with the source of every line visible. Sentinel turns, timesheet day works, shift reports and manual entries — reconciled rather than duplicated.

Limits checked as data arrives

Shift length, rest between turns, consecutive shifts and hours in a rolling window, checked against NR/L2/OHS/003 when the record lands rather than at the end of the period.

Exceedance authorisations

Where an exceedance is authorised: who authorised it, on what grounds and when, recorded against the person and the turn. That is the paperwork an assessor asks to see.

Fatigue calendar

The roster as worked, not as planned, so a pattern building towards a problem is visible while there is still time to change it.

Close calls and shift reports

Raised on a phone from site with photos, routed for action, and counted in the KPI database the annual assessment draws on.

Sentinel and competency

Hours and competency exports imported and matched to your people. Cards, medicals and competencies with expiry chased before somebody turns up to a shift.

RISQS / CORS audit preparation

Audit preparation, question by question.

There is no software on the market that prepares a RISQS CORS audit. Squareaway organises the work the way the audit asks for it: each question with the procedure that answers it and the evidence attached.

Procedures per question

Written against the question they answer, in your own document format and numbering, so the assessor reads your management system rather than a printout from a tool.

Evidence attached, not assembled

Training, toolbox talks, close calls, hours, calibration and KPI data are already in the system. The audit view points at them instead of asking you to export them.

Status you can look at

Which questions are answered, which have evidence and which are still open — six weeks out rather than the week before.

Squareaway helps you prepare and keep the evidence. It does not grant, guarantee or replace any accreditation, assessment or approval — those stay between you and the scheme.

Straight answers / before you ask

Four things worth knowing.

Do you calculate an HSE fatigue and risk index score?

No. Squareaway tracks hours, rest and patterns against the NR/L2/OHS/003 limits and shows exceedances. We do not publish an FRI score, because the commercial calculation is licensed and we would rather give you the limits you are actually held to than a number we cannot stand behind.

How is it priced?

£75 a month on top of whichever plan you are on, the same whether you have five people or sixty, on either term. It is an add-on rather than part of a plan because it is a different job from the rest of the system and most contractors will never need it. There is still no per-user charge.

We are not RISQS certified yet. Is it still useful?

That is the case it was built for. The company Squareaway was built in works in Network Rail and TfL infrastructure and is going through Sentinel sponsorship and RISQS itself, so the audit-preparation work was written from inside that process rather than about it.

Can engineers use it trackside?

Yes, offline. Close calls, shift reports and job records are filled in with no signal and upload when there is some.

See the hours register with your own people in it.

Half an hour, no scripted tour. Bring a week of turns and we will show you what the register does with them.
